Every week, we deliver hundreds of meals to people affected by homelessness and poverty in the Memphis area.
The Urban Bicycle Food Ministry is a non-profit organization created to serve people affected by homelessness and poverty. Though we are a Christian based organization, we are inclusive. People of different faiths and backgrounds are encouraged to participate. This organization believes that small acts of kindness are the fundamentals that bring light and love to a community.
Our Organization
The Urban Bicycle Food Ministry is a “church without walls”. We are a church in the sense of an assembly of people. Our church is our city. We seek out our friends on the streets - literally meeting them where they are at - to provide them with food and other essential supplies. We remind them that they are loved, valued, respected, and prayed for regularly.
Take Action
UBFM’s mission is to seek out and connect with the marginalized and forgotten on the streets of Memphis.
Our volunteers also benefit from engaging with individuals that society normally ignores and avoids. This experience enlightens them with a new perspective.
UBFM has spread to other cities including Nashville, TN; Des Moines, IA; Dubuque, IA; and Chicago, IL.
We are excited to announce that UBFM Memphis has been one of the recipients of the 2021 Park Tool Community Tool Grant! We are so excited and thankful for this donation!
